Tan Sri has served Malaysia as Deputy Minister of Transport (1987 ? 1995), Minister of National Unity and Social Development (1995 ? 1999), Member of Parliament, President of ASEAN Confederation of Women’s Organizations, and President of National Council of Women’s Organizations.

Today, Tan Sri continues to serve through her presidency of the Child Welfare Council of Malaysia, Universal Peace Federation of Malaysia, YASNITA, and Gerakan Ehsan Selangor. She is also the Vice President of MUBARAK, the council of former members of Malaysia’s parliament.
Tan Sri is a gift to Malaysia and humanity, and an inspiration for every woman. In her maturing age of over 70 years, she tirelessly shares her expertise, wisdom, and patronage through the numerous leadership roles and offices she holds.

 

Global Peace Festival 2010

Since 2007, the GPF has grown into a worldwide movement engaging political and spiritual leaders, sports stars, celebrities, and a broad range of partnering organizations. The 2010 Global Peace Festival will provide an international platform to highlight innovative, soft-power responses to conflict in the twenty-first century.

In recognition of the GPF’s investment in peacebuilding, the Hon. Raila Odinga, Prime Minister of Kenya, will act a Patron of the Festival.  Learn more.
