From December 10 – 14, 2009, Manila was host to the first annual Global Peace Convention, which brought together five hundred participants from twenty-eight nations, seeking solutions to the world’s most pressing issues under the banner of “One Family under God.” The convention assembled leaders and representatives of the Global Peace Festival (GPF) movement, which swept the globe in 2008 with events held in twenty countries and over one million people participating worldwide.
Since 2007, the GPF has grown into a worldwide movement engaging political and spiritual leaders, sports stars, celebrities, and a broad range of partnering organizations. The 2010 Global Peace Festival will provide an international platform to highlight innovative, soft-power responses to conflict in the twenty-first century.
In recognition of the GPF’s investment in peacebuilding, the Hon. Raila Odinga, Prime Minister of Kenya, will act a Patron of the Festival. Learn more.
