Young leaders from government, academia, and the volunteer sector are invited to a ground-breaking International Young Leaders conference in Nairobi, Kenya, March 19 to 21. The conference theme is "The Role of Young Leaders in Achieving UN Millennium Development Goals and Peacebuilding in Africa." Presenters will draw on proven models of peacebuilding and collaboration to empower Africa's future leaders to address the underdevelopment, chronic conflict, and political instability on the continent. In light of the global economic crisis, the conference will consider the unique challenges facing Africa in achieving the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals. This historic gathering of Africa's future leaders will hear special keynote addresses by Martin Luther King III, chairman of Realizing the Dream, and top Kenya officials. The conference facilitates the collaboration of governments, intergovernmental and faith-based organizations, the private sector, and civil society, bringing together leaders who are committed to racial and religious tolerance. Sponsors include the Youth Federation for World Peace, the Universal Peace Federation, and Kenya's Ministry of Youth and Sports. A limited number of openings remain for conference participants.
