What We Do

The Global Peace Festival Foundation (GPFF) promotes and celebrates persons and programs that contribute to reconciliation, mutual respect, harmony and cooperation among all people, as ‘One Family Under God’. Through partnerships with organizations around the world, GPFF programs and celebrations work to facilitate intercultural and interreligious cooperation, strengthen families and communities, and foster a culture of service and peace.

The Global Peace Festival Foundation is committed to a multi-sector collaborative approach, and works with a wide range of partners on specific initiatives. Our activities are organized around the three focus areas of interfaith partnerships, family strengthening initiatives, and service. Major initiatives include:

  • Global Peace Festivals
GPFF's signature initiative is the Global Peace Festival.  Much more than just a celebration, a Global Peace Festival is a methodology to build common cause and positive impact guided by the vision of One Family under God. Whether organized on a regional, national or local level, a Global Peace Festival engages diverse partners in three key areas: social impact programs, a leadership conference, and a significant festival that celebrates efforts and achievements toward realizing the vision of One Family under God, and amplifies this positive message to the larger society.
  • Education Initiatives
Because education is vital to empowering all people, GPFF engages in significant initiatives in leadership education, character education, and peace education.  These include Global Peace Leadership Conferences (GPLC), youth leadership education, Character Competencies Programs, and service learning projects.
  • Service and Development Initiatives
Based on a strong commitment to advancing a culture of service to others, GPFF and its partners promote a wide range of initiatives that tap the creativity of the human spirit and the transformative power of service. These efforts include a significant focus on social entrepreneurship and community drive development as effective approaches to addressing critical social issues.
  • Environmental Initiatives
Projects to care for our earth can also tap the transformative power of service for the greater good. GPFF's Rivers of Peace Initiative has been launched with the ongoing Nairobi River Cleanup Project in Kenya, and the Bagmati River Cleanup Project in Nepal. Tree-planting and reforestation projects are also vital to our environment, and GPFF has initiated such projects in Paraguay, Philippines and elsewhere.
  • Interfatih Partnerships and Conflict Resolution
GPFF and its partners are highly committed to resolving conflict and building genuine and sustained collaboration, especially based on common cause among faith leaders rooted in universal principles and values.
  • Family Strenghtening Initiatives
GPFF builds coalitions and partnerships to address critical issues facing families and youth.
  • Youth and Sports Initiatives
In addition to a major focus on character education for youth, GPFF also utilizes sports activities to promote understanding and reconciliation through its Sports for Peace program. Youth leadership programs are also organized by the Global Peace Youth Corps, a key GPFF affiliate.
