Service / Development

Based on a strong commitment to advancing a culture of service to others, GPFF and its partners promote a wide range of initiatives that seek to tap the creativity of the human spirit and the transformative power of service. These efforts include a significant focus on social entrepreneurship and community drive development as effective approaches to addressing critical social issues.  Among the projects and partners engaged in these important activities are:

The Global Peace Service Alliance (GPSA) is a cross-sector initiative that promotes peace and development through building a global culture of service. GPSA is embarking on an unprecedented effort to scale up the contribution and role of social entrepreneurship in meeting these challenges through developing a Global Social Entrepreneurs Coalition.

  • East Africa Peace Service Corps

The East Africa Peace Service Corps (EAPSC) is a movement of committed peace builders and volunteers charged to increase cooperation and mutual understanding among communities in the East Africa region and beyond.  The EAPSC seeks to bring people together beyond tribal identity to teach basic respect for and preservation of the environment, to make responsible lifestyle choices, and also to unite all stakeholders in peaceful and effective responses to social and environmental challenges.

The Power of Rupiah is a fund raising campaign that promotes the culture of giving among young people, with the mission of providing children living in poverty, especially street children, with a better future.  With the support of ministers, politicians, corporate leaders, entertainers, NGO representatives,  university rectors, and students, the Power of Rupiah campaign is active in universities throughout the Jakarta region, where an estimated 30,000 university students are participating as volunteer fundraisers and donors.
